Prime Minister Ünal Üstel visited the gates in Güzelyut and Lefke regions today within the scope of the inspections he started at the land border gates. Prime Minister Üstel announced that the deficiencies at the land border gates will be eliminated and comfortable passage will be provided.
Prime Minister Üstel stated that they will come together with the Economic Organizations Platform in the coming days and work to renew the land border gates, to make them more up-to-date and more modern and to provide a comfortable crossing environment, and said that they will put these studies on the table next week.
Reminding that they will sign a protocol with the Economic Organizations Platform to make changes at the gates, the Prime Minister said, “We will eliminate the problems at the land border gates together with our own business people, our own business environment.”.
According to a statement released by the Prime Ministry Unal Üstel, The TRNC continues to visit the land border crossings between the TRNC and the Greek Cypriot Administration of Southern Cyprus.
The Prime Minister visited the land border gates in Nicosia and Famagusta districts in the past weeks, saw the problems on the spot and received information. Unal Üstel, Today, he completed his inspections at the land border gates by visiting the gates in Güzelyurt and Lefke districts.

Within this framework, Prime Minister Üstel first made inspections at Bostancı border crossing. Prime Minister Üstel received information from Güzelyurt Police Director Zafer Zayıfer about the problems and needs at the border crossing.

Prime Minister Unal Üstel, made a statement to the press after his visit to the border gates and stated that today they continued the inspections and controls at the land border gates, which they have started for a while.
Prime Minister Üstel stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, MPs, mayors and police chiefs in the region and customs officials have completed their visits to land border gates across the country today.
Reminding that they first started today's inspections at Bostanci border gate of Güzelyurt district, Prime Minister Üstel said that they received reports from the authorities for the renewal of the border gate according to the conditions of the day and that studies will be carried out in the coming days.

Pointing out the importance of Bostanci gate for Güzelyurt district and its people, Prime Minister Üstel stated that 2 thousand people enter and exit daily and that deficiencies have been identified and that they have seen on site that there are bottlenecks here as in other border gates.
Prime Minister Üstel stated that they will carry out some works and improvements to ease the entry and exit at Bostancı land border gate and then moved to Aplıç gate in Lefke District.

Noting that they also saw problems at the Aplıç gate, Prime Minister Üstel said, “All these were kept in the form of a report by our relevant friends, and we will discuss these problems in the coming days.”.
Stating that they recently visited the Yeşilırmak border gate, Prime Minister Unal Üstel, He said that in the light of the information they received, there were around 600 entries and exits per day and that deficiencies were also identified at this gate.
